Nestled in glorious south Wales is the London Cloth Company's new home, Elvet Woollen Mill. Daniel Harris, a self-taught weaver, has turned his passion for textiles and reviving old looms into a thriving operation. The looms at Elvet Woolen Mill transform pure natural fibres into traditionally woven textiles.
The mill is open to all who love textiles and tradition. Join us for coffee, cake and an in depth tour through our 1840's woollen mill. We will give you an extensive introduction and demonstration of all the machinery and processes. Plus an outline of the history and what we have planned for the future.
The 200 tonne love affair with machinery began in 2011 with a single 1920s loom. She was found nestled in a barn in Wales and was swiftly delivered to East London to be restored and made to earn her keep.
A natural machinist, though armed with zero weaving experience, Daniel quickly became a self-taught loom whisperer. Fast forward to 2023, and he's now the genius behind Elvet Woollen Mill, which produces cloth for some serious names in fashion and film.
